LFP-1005 - Hot Peel Transfer Additive(FOR DIRECT-PRINT-LOOK) LFP-1005 HOT PEEL TRANSFER ADDITIVE can be used to create a transfer print surface finish which looks like a direct print. As you know, transfer prints normally look glossy and rubbery because the print surface finish takes on the image of the transfer paper. The matte finish is sometimes preferred. MIXTURE: Add approximately 20% LFP-1005 Hot Peel Transfer Additive to QCM XOLB COLORS. Avoid using modified or extended ink or results may vary. Other inks may work; always test print before using. (XOLB colors are ideal). PRINT TRANSFER: Direct print on non-gloss soft finish transfer paper. A 110 mesh with a 60 durometer squeegee will produce a thick film of ink. Other combinations of mesh and squeegee may work but a thick deposit is necessary for a good split. SEMI-CURE TRANSFER: Set dryer for 250 degrees F with time at 90 seconds. DO NOT OVER CURE INK. APPLY TO GARMENT: Set transfer press to 400 degrees F (allow time to warm up) set FIRM PRESSURE which will push ink into the garment. Transfer press temperatures from 375 to 425 degrees F seem to work acceptably. Lower heat below 375 degrees F may result in ink release from paper without splitting. When ready, insert garment and position transfer. Close press and squeeze for 5-7 seconds. HOT PEEL: Pull transfer while still hot before removing garment. Check transfer for even split. Recheck temperature and pressure to adjust. For the desirable matte finish direct print look, the ink must split evenly between substrate and paper. Warning: This is a manual procedure. You must be consistent in your procedure. COLD PEEL: If ink is allowed to cool it will cold peel and not split. All of the ink will peel off transfer paper leaving a cold peel gloss look. |
